Head Cook – Surrey Public School

  • Position: Head Cook
  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:30 AM – 2:30 PM (possible 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM based on operational needs)
  • Work Calendar: 10-month position aligned with the school year
  • Workdays: No Fridays, weekends, or holidays unless otherwise required

What You’ll Do

As Head Cook, you will oversee all aspects of the school nutrition program, including:

  • Planning, preparing, and overseeing daily meal production for breakfast and lunch programs
  • Ensuring meals meet USDA meal pattern requirements and nutrition standards
  • Supervising and supporting kitchen staff through training, scheduling, and daily operations
  • Maintaining food safety and sanitation standards using HACCP-based procedures
  • Managing food ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory
  • Completing required production records, meal counts, and compliance documentation
  • Utilizing approved software for menu planning, inventory management, and reporting
  • Collaborating with school administration to develop nutritious, student-friendly menus
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchen environment
  • Monitoring equipment and coordinating maintenance needs

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Experience in mass quantity cooking (school, institutional, or commercial food service preferred)
  • Experience leading or supervising food service staff
  • Strong culinary and food preparation skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • Computer proficiency with menu planning, inventory, and reporting systems
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a K–12 school nutrition program
  • Familiarity with USDA school meal regulations and requirements
  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varying kitchen temperatures

Responsibilities

Football Coach (School) – Position Description

Surrey Public School is seeking a motivated and dependable football Coach to lead our student-athletes in developing strong fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This position is responsible for planning and conducting practices, coaching during competitions, and supporting the overall growth and success of the football program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead daily practices and game preparation

  • Teach football skills, strategy, and teamwork

  • Promote positive sportsmanship and student leadership

  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and travel

  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school staff

  • Maintain compliance with school policies and activity guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Prior coaching and/or football experience preferred

  • Ability to work well with students and promote a positive team culture

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organization skills

  • Must meet school district coaching requirements (background check, certifications, etc.)

This is a seasonal position with practices and competitions scheduled before and/or after school.
